The proposed project would consist of between 100 and 172 wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of up to 1,200 megawatts (MW). The wind turbines would have a maximum tip height of 247 metres (m) above lowest astronomical tide.
East Anglia Offshore Windfarm Limited is a joint venture between Vattenfall and ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) created for the development of Zone 5 of the Crown Estate's Round Three Process.
In June 2019 BEIS approved a non-material change to increase the overall capacity of the windfarm to 1400 MW.
Operated by Iberdrola — through its UK subsidiary, ScottishPower Renewables — the construction of the East Anglia Hub will probably start in 2023 and finish in 2026.
